Today we explored Cusco to learn more about Peru’s history and culture. In the morning we rode horses through Sacsayhuamán, a site of ancient Incan ruins and famous historical Spanish battlefield. We had a guide to teach us about all the different structures and their past purposes. For lunch, we stopped at a Peruvian-Mexican restaurant, near Plaza DeArmas. After lunch, we were able to walk around Cusco and go shopping at the local markets. Stella, Lucas, Filip, Alex, and Giacomo went to the top of the Cathedral and the Qorikancha. For dinner, we went to a traditional Peruvian restaurant with a modern twist, Calle Del Medio. After loving the first night of Salsa dancing, we went back to the same place and had an even better time dancing with our friends. We all went to bed exhausted and excited for what tomorrow’s adventures will entail!
