Alpacas, Pisac Ruins, and Salsa (July 8)

The following post features student writing.

July 8

We woke up in Sihua and enjoyed a nice breakfast of pancakes with chicken, vegetables, and bread before boarding a bus to go back to Cusco. We stopped at a llama, alpaca, and vicugna zoo and learned a lot about the animals.

We continued on to Pisac and got a quick snack of empanadas before heading over to the Pisac ruins to explore and climb the ancient stone buildings and grass terraces.

After the visit to the ruins we returned back to the town of Pisac to look around the markets and grab some food from local cafes.

In the afternoon we arrived back in Cusco and were finally able to shower back at Hostal Apu Wasi. For dinner we went to a nice restaurant with local music and many local dance performances and we even joined in in a conga line! We ended the day by learning to dance salsa and bachata in the city of Cusco!
